In this first of three workshops, we plan on demystifying both GIS software and how to import vector data to make a simple map. You'll learn how to navigate the interface and highlight important functions within ArcGIS and QGIS.

Interested in studying social media for your class or scholarly research? In this workshop we help you understand how to acquire social media for your research, focusing on Twitter. The workshop will include an overview of social media APIs and data formats, before exploring Twitter’s API in depth. We'll discuss how to re-use existing datasets, as well as how to collect new datasets. There will be an opportunity to work hands-on with Social Feed Manager and TweetSets, open-source tools written at GW Libraries for social media data.

Importing different data file types in SPSS. Analyzing data by looking calculating descriptive analysis. Create different charts in SPSS. Hypothesis testing using t-test, z-test. Finding out relationship between variables using correlation coefficient and by linear regression.
