This workshop will introduce participants to programming by using Python to focus on the basic concepts that all programming languages build upon, and will also introduce participants to working with data in Python.

In this first of three workshops, we plan on demystifying both GIS software and how to import vector data to make a simple map. You'll learn how to navigate the interface and highlight important functions within ArcGIS and QGIS.
