Scholarly Technology

The Scholarly Technology Group is responsible for providing high quality research support to all members of the GW community via discovery tools, data visualization, and software development. We serve the community of scholars by enabling the discovery, manipulation, and publishing of information.

Major duties of the Scholarly Technology Group:

  • Partner with GW scholars to enhance their research through expertise in data manipulation, visualization and software development.
  • Develop and maintain discovery tools to provide the GW community with access to resources that enable their work.
  • Offer consultations and workshops on topics such as geospatial analysis, GIS tools, social media archiving, working with APIs, using the Linux shell, and coding in Python.
  • Management of virtual servers to support GW functions such as e-resource access, digital specialized collections, and study room reservations.
  • Develop and maintain the GW institutional repository GW ScholarSpace to support open access at GW.
  • Participate in the digitization, preservation and dissemination of the GWLAI's collections.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in all our interactions and collaborations with the GW community.
