Project Management Office

The Academic Technologies Project Management Office (ATPMO) is responsible for planning and managing the execution of all projects in the department, performing business analysis, and asset management.

Major duties of the Project Management team:

  • Analyze project ideas and business cases to determine project feasibility and approach, including the development of project charters and project plans that encompass risk analysis, communication plan, and change management process.
  • Perform strategic project planning, which includes; requirements gathering, cost analysis, cross-functional resource allocation and management, and schedule creation.
  • Management and monitoring of project scope, including providing project status reports, effective handling and resolution of issues, and ensuring project collaboration, transparency, and effective utilization of resources.
  • Performs data analysis for decision-making support on classrooms, computer labs, and AT-supported services, such as Echo360 for lecture capture.
  • Manages the annual refresh of computer labs, technology enhanced classrooms (TECs), and equipment lifecycle for both the Foggy Bottom and Virginia Science and Technology campuses.
  • Provides a centralized faculty and student focused approach to handling project risks, issues, and concerns pertaining to the aforementioned groups.
  • Provides project management training, coaching and mentoring, and the applied tools to AT staff members.
  • Provides asset management support for all departmental assets.
  • Drafts and reviews services agreements with technology vendors for classroom and lab refresh projects
