Communications, Outreach, and Events
The Communications, Outreach, and Events team is responsible for telling the story of GW Libraries and Academic Innovation to its diverse constituencies, including students, alumni, and faculty as well as facilitating communication within the organization.
Major duties of the Communications, Outreach & Events team:
- Maintain and improve the websites of all GWLAI areas, including maintaining accurate and engaging web content and ensuring an effective, visually appealing, intuitive web presences.
- Support, produce, and coordinate special events, ensuring that events and activities adhere to GWLAI standards, run smoothly, are of high quality, and further the goals of the organization.
- Produce and coordinate marketing for services, special events, and workshops, including designing digital sign images, maintaining the online events listings and GW calendar entries, writing and coordinating Infomails, and producing and distributing the GW Libraries Exposed.
- Oversee design, writing, and printing of all printed materials for GWLAI departments, including brochures and the annual VISION magazine.
- Coordinate and oversee all social media accounts within GWLAI.
- Increase visibility and understanding within GWLAI through internal communication methods, including the weekly e-newsletter, employee appreciation events, and town hall meetings.
- Coordinate and respond to student and professional media inquiries and interview requests.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date signage in general-purpose classrooms and library buildings
- Develop and maintain instructional guides and documentation for general-purpose classroom technology systems. Ensure technology inventories and classroom pictures are accurate.
- Actively pursue opportunities for student engagement through the student liaison position
