Audiovisual Design and Engineering

Audiovisual Design and Engineering (AVDE) provides classroom design services for the university. The team develops and maintains GW’s classroom technology and design standards and research innovative ways to use technology to enrich the educational experience for faculty and students. AVDE is currently leading the Digital Transition effort to upgrade all general purpose classrooms across GW’s multiple campuses.

Major duties of the Audiovisual Design and Engineering Team:

  • Design new classroom and departmental spaces.
  • Provide Tier 3 level support for various parties across the university.
  • Research new technologies and evaluate their potential for use in the classroom.
  • Oversee the classroom technology program for GW, including the strategic direction for new technology and the lifecycle of existing spaces.
